London's St.Patrick's Day Parade!

The best word to describe this parade would be interesting. But it was fun to go with all my German friends. Pictured here are just a few of them, Sara, Benny, and Anne. Afterwords there was a huge concert in Trafalgar Square. I'll start with the more normal pictures :)

The Dublin marching band.

I don't think this was actually a clergyman
 but he looked official.

The Irish football club.

We got there early so we
had a pretty good spot.
There were of course lots of bagpipes.

I have no idea who this is
but the costume was
pretty cool.

The Olympic rings, not very Irish but very
big here right now.

All I can say here is, "Dancing Pringles anyone?"
Once again I have no idea
who this is suposed to be but
it was a pretty sweet costume.
They got my vote for best costume.
The African Irish.
The Asian Irish.

The Mexican Irish.
The Brazilian Irish. Who can
I just say must have been
freezing.

The Latin Irish.
And of course what woud a St.Patrick's day
Parade be with out including the Hari Krishna's!

Saturday night I spent a great night with friends at a Cafe in Covenant Garden, for an event with Equippers Church called Whats Your Story. There was live music, stories, free drinks, and nibbles. The main speaker was an Australian who was really good and very funny. When we finally headed home the tube was so packed with people that we had to wait for three trains to come and go before we jammed our way on.

Sorry its been so long but heres some new funny stories....
Apparently it is common knowledge over here, but I found it really weird when I found nail polish in a friends fridge. She said it is supposed help it last longer but I am not convinced.
On Wednesday I was in the Tate Britain for drawing class. We had to set up and draw the entrance hall witch meant there were lots of people walking past wondering what I was drawing. I had some girls think I was drawing them so they started fake posing, but the funniest of all was when I heard some french accents behind me saying "brillante, très magnifique!" and turned around to find several 12 year old school boys behind me.
More will come but I'm really tired and can't think of more right now.

Saturday night some friends from Belgium took me out to dinner and than dessert at Snog. Its a frozen yogurt place with the coolest ceiling ever!

Portobello Market

Saturday I spent the day with Hanna at Portobello market. This saturday street market is two miles long and has everything from cloths, to antiques, to food form all over the world. It is most famous for being featured in Notting Hill with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant.

This was the most high tech porta potty I have ever seen. The door slid open and shut by a button and self cleaned itself in between each person. Plus there was this atomic hand washing station where you put you hands underneath, first the soap came out, than water, and than the drier started. It was actually pretty cool.

Harrods is a very famous, very expensive department store here in London. It is huge! with restaurants and tea rooms inside. Each of the escalators had a different theme, this was the Egyptian one. Plus they had a live opera singer to serenade you as you went up and down!

Friday was Elise's Birthday so we had a fun night going out to dinner and than a bar to celebrate!
The changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace.

Anne and I waiting...

Anne and Claudia in Hyde Park
This was the best picture
I got as I was herded across
the road.

I loved the seats at this outdoor bar in Camden.
I was trying to be British!

These pictures are from a fun Friday and Saturday. Friday we went to see the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace, unfortunately the internet steered us and a lot of other people wrong because there was no changing of the guards that day. So instead Anne, Claudia, and I walked through Hyde park and went down to Camden market. On our walk Anne and Claudia tried to teach me some German and  got a good laugh listening to me trying to pronounce words correctly. Saturday we went back to the changing of the guards and actually got to see it that time! Than took the tube all the way to Shortage to go shopping at a massive mall there. I found my new favorite shoe store there, its like a German payless, Deichmann's!
It took a month but I finally got my Valentines
package from my amazing parents.
